My first memories were that I was glad I had found the avast forums, had experienced a real bad malware incident and had to use a Windows linux distro to recover from that and by that occasion swore that such an incident would never happen again. It never did thanks to what I learned from frequenting the avast forums. I also remember that bob3160 made comments about my avatar at the time, it was too large in size and a ridiculous monkey hopping around, another happy moment was when the beautiful avatar was created for me by S.Z.Craftec, a master avatar developer, I kept it ever since. Also memories of the postings of Eddy bring fond memories, he introduced his special HJT analyzer tool here. Good to memorize, Tech, and of course all the good friends I made through here,
Joined in December 2003 and have read the forum every day since.
My hat off to Tech,Bob and the wonderful women Cujo (RIP)all of whom helped this newbie with great patience.
DavidR also deserves all our thanks.
I really missed S.Z.Craftec :‘( as he created my Speedy Gonzales avatar for me many years ago, by the way does any body every keep in touch with S.Z.Craftec :’( ???
Thanks for reminding, yes all these postings have built me out, inspired me and also helped to inspire others, a lot of security savvy were being bred here in the avast user forums at these fountains of security related lore. The most enervating experiences were when a couple of us, experienced avast helpers with the help of eliminators cleansed a victim’s machine from malcode, these were the most rewarding experiences and taught me much in what way to secure myself digitally that is. It brought me to test drive the Flock and Firefox Mozilla browsers, it brought me to join as a member in the NoScript forums and learn more about malcode and script, and it taught me to use blockers, script analyzers, hex editors, malcode browser tools, javascript unpackers, online sources, etc… Without avast I would never have been growing into malware fighting, and the forums brought me an awful lot of digital friends: bob3160, CharleyO, Tech, good old DarthMikey, my countryman Eddy, DavidR, recently Asyn, Superhacker, Logos, YoKenny, and then a forum friend that went away, good old Kamulko, I even could respect MasterTech, despite his trolling and luring, YantoChiang, murali (growing into a wonderful programmer, yes murali, you will be), Pondus, etc. etc. Jadinolf, Xmas, etc. etc. and of course you arvark, and all those that I haven’t mentioned here…
