The way to see number of streaming updates received ?

Hi can you tell me where is the folder where I can check how many streaming updates I received for each days ?

thanks,
spywar

“defs” folder into avast installation one. But, would you really worry about this technical stuff?

No I don’t really mind but thanks anyway (wanted to see about how many of these are released every days).

It would be time consuming to check… But, if you want to know, it’s more than 30 a day…

Not really time consuming, just open the defs folder and look for the *_stream folder (the * being the VPS version number) if present open it and explorer tells you how many objects in the folder and that is the total number of streaming update to date (26 so far today).

Note, when you receive the next VPS update the previous streaming updates are included in it, so the old *_streaming sub folder is removed.

You can even create a shortcut to open the defs folder directly in explorer and it is two clicks to get the information.

Many thanks for those informations, it’s helpful.

You’re welcome.

Is it normal to not see any streaming updates ? (Even though I get them according to UI) see here

At times, yes it is normal not to see it, as I mentioned after a regular virus definitions update (VPS) the old stream sub folder is removed as they are included.

However, yours should be showing as:

  1. you received a streaming update last at 18:31 today according to your image.
  2. you have VPS version 130210-0, if you had 130210-1 (you don’t yet) then and only then should the 1302100_stream sub folder be removed.

That said I’m viewing this on my XP system my win7 netbook doesn’t spend a lot of time on-line so I haven’t had any streaming updates in a few days, but the connection is reported as established.

But you also don’t seem to have the previous VPS version sub-folder 1302091 (I do), avast periodically does housekeeping removing old defs folders, but the streaming one should be there.
