in short terms polonus likes it,

But does it pass the acid3 test?

Hi Polonus. I’m trying out the “World Browser 2.1 version for Wins 98.” So far it seems to be working fine. Thanks for the heads up on this one. Have a nice day.

avast webshield doesn’t seem to be scanning the pages with World Browser
webshield’s been working with firefox and IE, but not World Browser? ???

webshield's been working with firefox and IE, but not World Browser?
just installed it and webshield is working just fine here on my end with the World Browser-nice find damian :)

I have to agree with johnny223.
I can’t get webshield to scan any websites when using theis browser either…

you're right...the blue avast ball is spinning but not scanning with the webshied-nice browser though ::) ??? ;)

Being a bit of a vague browser I doubt it is on the list of supported browsers, so the web shield won’t scan the http traffic for it. You would need to use the optin function in the web shield section of the avast4.ini.

[WebScanner] OptinProcess=executableFileName.exe

Adding the line OptinProcess= if it doesn’t exist.

David,
I tried that and even restarted windows but it’s not working.

How about setting the browser up manually to use the web shield proxy ?

A little help would be greatly appreciated.

Well these tutorials are for IE and Firefox, I don’t know if they can be equated to the settings in the world browser.

For IE - broadband users: - Tutorial - Web Shield Proxy Set-up for IE
For IE - dialup users - Tutorial - Web Shield Proxy Set-up for IE (Dial-up)
For Firefox users - Tutorial - Web Shield Proxy Set-up for Firefox

tryed that Davidr with The World Browser and it turned off the internet-went back and changed back and back here to the world of avast-guess the webshield won't work with the browser ::) 8)

But did you also add the world browser executable file to the optinprocess in avast4.ini as was previously mentioned ?

no davidr-explain how too and i will ::) ??? ;)

Setting IE according to these instructions did the trick. Webshield now works when using WorldBrowser. Thanks David.

Mine is working now also ;D
Thanks David

nice, easy to follow instructions for proxy setup
works with webshield now, thanks David ;D

You’re ‘all’ welcome.
