there is an update available for your definitions-or however it was written...

so…avast notified me there was an update available for my definitions…wait just a moment, isnt it supposed to do that automatically without me doing anything?

so, like a good user I loaded up the interface and opened the update settings, sure enough there’s an update. I clicked update on virus definitions, and it proceeded to encounter several http server errors.

what the shiznit? I confuzzled…it shouldnt require any intervention whatsoever from me aside from program version updates.

is there something going on with the servers? I ask as if it was my connection…well, skype, google docs, facebook AND startrek online would have all proceeded to toss their cookies.

Well sometimes either doing an automatic update of VPS or by doing a manual update of VPS it losses connection to the avast servers. Usually it takes times to get fixed.

translation…unknown why it happens, it’ll sort itself out with a bit of time?

I’m having the same problem and can’t seem to fix it.

Update to the latest version (12.3.2280): https://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=189836.0

It’s a program. Every program has it’s own issues and problems. This must be a problem from the avast servers.

As the problem is clearly with the avast server(s), ofcourse you can’t fix it.
Just have patience and wait till avast has solved it.

Did you try a repair of avast via add/remove? What is the current version of your avast?

It’s 11.2.2262, check his screenshot.

Oh right? Didn’t see that properly :stuck_out_tongue:

No problem.

yep…I’ll put on the coffee. seems like everyone’s servers are having issues the past few days :stuck_out_tongue:
