ridiculous. I get this popup several times a day even when I don’t have a browser open. When I click on details it shows see screenshot. I do not search with Yahoo nor do I have Java on this computer.

By now you should know the steps to take, open a topic in the viruses and worms section and post the logs after running the tools here http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=53253.0

I reckon a bad firefox extension

Maybe it is one of this bad add-ons:

Firefox Extensions

Sorry but couldn’t get all of the extensions in just 1 screenshot.

No point in posting screenshots, run the tools and supply the logs in the virus and worms section for one of the malware guys to look over - it’ll go much quicker if you just follow instructions ::slight_smile:

I only get these popups when I’m using Firefox. Am now using IE 11 and will continue to keep it open to see if I get anymore popups.

I know I don’t have a virus or malware on my computer as I scanned with Malwarebytes and Avast quick scan.

Just because Avast or Malwarebytes has not picked it up in a scan doesn’t mean there cant be an infected extension, Avast is detecting something even when your browser is closed as you showed in the popup so if you are unwilling to follow instructions to resolve this then why even post in the first place ::slight_smile:

Well you said in your first post you got this even when not using the browser.

I get this popup several times a day even when I don't have a browser open.

So that is somewhat inconsistent from what you are saying now.

I only get these popups when I'm using Firefox.

As has been stated the most likely reason is a bad add-on trying to connect to a site considered malicious by avast. So you should follow up on the advice and submit the logs so that it can be found and resolved.

I know I don't have a virus or malware on my computer as I scanned with Malwarebytes and Avast quick scan.

Otherwise what is the point of of seeking help/feedback in the forums if you aren’t going to follow it.

I get this popup several times a day even when I don’t have a browser open.

I meant to say when I have Firefox open and sometime when it’s minimized. I have it closed now and haven’t had anymore popups.

Instructions have been posted, either follow those or you are only wasting our time.

I uninstalled Firefox a short while ago and haven’t gotten anymore popups. Should I get anymore I will follow the instructions posted in your link.

:-X

Also delete Mozilla folder and try to install Firefox again and install add-ons one by one to test which one is the culprit.
C:/Users/YourName/AppData/Roaming/Mozilla

If you have a problem and want help, then please follow the instructions from those that are trying to help you.
If you want to solve the problem on your own, why bother to post it here ???

I can’t find C:/Users/YourName/AppData/Roaming/Mozilla so I’m not going to install it again. I’ll keep using IE11, Opera and Palemoon.

Only popups after uninstalling Firefox. I’m not going to update yet.

So instead of handling the problem your gonna ignore it? If IE gets this way you cant just uninstall it as its part of the OS so that wont work like it did for firefox.

Im with bob on this one why bother posting about it.

Their are plenty of other browsers I can use besides IE.

Until you get those one’s messed up as well.
