This message keep coming when Pc restart

Hi all
my friend is having a problem with he’s PC after he install Avast AV ( home edition ) …
Since he don’t speak English, I’m writhing this message

He installed Avast on he’s WinXP Pro with Sp1 and all the important updates.

He scanned the Pc and discovered many of them. He deleted them all. The problem is every time he restarts the Pc this warning message appears on the screen:

Can someone help to solve this problem? ::slight_smile:

thanx ;D

It seems that some auto-start entry (referring a file already deleted) is still in registry.

You can try to search the registry (with regedit) for system32.exe, or system32\system32; however, if the item is registered without path and extension, you won’t find it this way. You can try Hijackthis or some similar tool (maybe even msconfig) to find (and delete) the invalid item.

Check out this thread and in particular the post by geoff Atteberry (response 13)

No problems.Hope you fix it , and if your friend doesnt already have a firewall maybe recommend one to him.
me

Change the “Shell” value to Explorer.exe only - that’s the value it shoud have (i.e. delete the C:\Windows\System32\System32.exe part).

Thankx guys, the problem is solved …

what i did is searched for System32.exe in the registry and deleated the C:\Windows\System32\System32.exe from the Shell value… that’s it ;D

bassbag
i told hem to use Kaspersky Anti-Haker wich is a very good Firewall even beter than ZoneAlarm
