Not only it’s ugly and hard to navigate compared to old one, it’s constantly just erroring with 403. Check 3 posts and it shits itself to death. Every single time. For months now. This is just absurd. It’s so bad I basically don’t even stay around here because why even bother at this point. Just why Avast team, why? Get rid of this garbage forum and replace it with literally anything else.

Whilst it takes some getting used to. The previous errors/timeouts, etc. did improve, but the 403 errors have crept back in.

It’s dissapointing that Avast maintenance of the forum has done little to improve on reliability and functionality here.

Whilst it might have been going on for a long time, currently (for me) the 403 errors are nowhere close to what they were shortly after the new forum launched.

Same back in February 25, I wasn’t seeing that many and for me usually crap connection related.

I totally agree, well said! It’s really hard to navigate and convoluted, things are not clear and just not as streamlined and easy to use and read, as the previous forum design. It’d be incredible if we could go back to the previous design but not sure it’s possible.

This forum is so shit visually I don’t even know how to find half of the correct subforums. It’s an absolute trainwreck and half way through it always shits itself with 403. Has been for literal months. I’d participate more but it’s so terrible to navigate and broken non stop that I just can’t be bothered spending any time here. Opposed to old forum where I was around almost daily. I don’t get it.

I agree with RejZoR… In 2025, for a company like avast, it’s incredible that you can’t open three tabs without crashing the forum. Using Discourse as a community platform is no big deal. In the meantime, as far as I’m concerned, it shouldn’t be long now because I won’t be able to navigate the platform soon . By limiting its availability to the latest browsers, it should be top notch since it has fewer technical constraints, but it’s the opposite.

I concur, given I have three Community Tabs minimum pinned in Firefox and minimised (to save on RAM usage), My profile, new topics and Latest discussions, before I even start trying to help. Its a mine field.

How is this new forum so absolutely horrid, useless and stupid? HOW? Get rid of this pile of shit and replace it with a god damn phpBB. Also, Cloudflare was knocked out here in UK yesterday, so many websites were unreachable. Too much of the internet is now in the hands of just a few operators. If one has a mishap, then consequences are great.

Nah, this is not Cloudflare related, this forum has been absolute hot garbage for months now. It’s horrendous.

Frequent 403 Access Denied page was by Cloudflare iirc. This new forum uses it for rate-limiting and its limit seems to be quite low compared to the old forum.

What rates? I literally open a single thread, click back button in browser and instantly get ACCESS DENIED and after that Cloudflare blocked nonsense. Who designed this idiotic thing?!

There is a live post preview (selectable; “<<” or “”>>" at the bottom of post window) and that somehow counts as connections, triggering rate-limit. There may be still some realtime connections while wrtiting even if closed; so I prepare my post on notepad.exe and paste when I want to post something.

I’m not saying this rate-limit behavior is a good thing; I just used to it and learned a workaround.

I’m forever bumping into to this rate thing, you have posted too quickly, that should most certainly not apply to anyone other than newbies, essentially to prevent spam.

I have no other idea why there is a rate issue outside of anti-spam, but it doesn’t seem to prevent the spammers that I’m constantly reporting.

Excuse me, but if “rate limit is viewing two posts one after another” is too much I’m done with this BS. And I’m absolutely not going to type in notepad and copy paste it here. If I didn’t have to it in some home hosted phpBB 15 years ago I absolutely won’t now.
