This new forum is absolute disaster

Not only it’s ugly and hard to navigate compared to old one, it’s constantly just erroring with 403. Check 3 posts and it shits itself to death. Every single time. For months now. This is just absurd. It’s so bad I basically don’t even stay around here because why even bother at this point. Just why Avast team, why? Get rid of this garbage forum and replace it with literally anything else.

Whilst it takes some getting used to. The previous errors/timeouts, etc. did improve, but the 403 errors have crept back in.

It certainly makes it difficult for those regular users trying to help others.

Agreed. 403 errors are making the forum frustrating to use and hampering the community efforts to support users. This has been going on a long time. See this thread: Community suffering constant 403 Errors
It’s dissapointing that Avast maintenance of the forum has done little to improve on reliability and functionality here.

Whilst it might have been going on for a long time, currently (for me) the 403 errors are nowhere close to what they were shortly after the new forum launched.

Not experiencing that, whilst I get the odd 403 error that isn’t nearly as frequently as it was some time ago.

It can be connection related (or rather poor internet connection related), refreshing a failed connection usually results in another error of a higher grade.

If I copy the original link and use a fresh tab it usually connects.

I have been having come cr4p connections on my broadband service provider and not just in this forum.

Same back in February 25, I wasn’t seeing that many and for me usually crap connection related.

I totally agree, well said! It’s really hard to navigate and convoluted, things are not clear and just not as streamlined and easy to use and read, as the previous forum design. It’d be incredible if we could go back to the previous design but not sure it’s possible.

Jesus christ AVAST team, get rid of this pile of shit you call forum. This is ENTIRELY UNUSABLE. I’m still getting CONSTANT 403 errors and then whining of Cloudflare about it. Not to mention it’s ugly as sin and incredibly bad to navigate. WHY IS IT STILL SO STUPID AND BROKEN!? WTF!?

This forum is so shit visually I don’t even know how to find half of the correct subforums. It’s an absolute trainwreck and half way through it always shits itself with 403. Has been for literal months. I’d participate more but it’s so terrible to navigate and broken non stop that I just can’t be bothered spending any time here. Opposed to old forum where I was around almost daily. I don’t get it.

I agree with RejZoR… In 2025, for a company like avast, it’s incredible that you can’t open three tabs without crashing the forum. Using Discourse as a community platform is no big deal. In the meantime, as far as I’m concerned, it shouldn’t be long now because I won’t be able to navigate the platform soon . By limiting its availability to the latest browsers, it should be top notch since it has fewer technical constraints, but it’s the opposite.

I concur, given I have three Community Tabs minimum pinned in Firefox and minimised (to save on RAM usage), My profile, new topics and Latest discussions, before I even start trying to help. Its a mine field.
