I’m getting this error when I inspect the page. For some reason, it’s only affecting Squarespace websites. I requested help from them and they said it was probably due to my Virsus protection software, Avast, blocking the SSL to load. Does anyone know how to resolve this? I use Squarespace to design my website but can’t edit it, or even load the page. Is this an Avast issue?
Is this forum active?
If I get no reply, I’m forced to leave Avast. I can’t figure out why SSL are being blocked and I need to update my personal website
The forum is active, mostly by users that volunteer to help other Avast users. Probably your post went unanswered as noone else has encountered the same issue as you report, so can not offer you advice.
As your post appears in the forum “General” section, we have little information to work with. Please state which Avast product are you using and if PC, Mac or Phone.
I will assume you have Avast Antivirus for PC for now.
Do you see any Avast pop-up’s when you visit those websites? If yes, post screenshot/s includijg the “Show Details” part.
If you are sure those websites are safe, you may determine if it Avast blocking those websites by temporarily turning off avast shields by right clicking the avast tray icon and select “avast shields control” from the menu. Do not leave the shields off as it defeats all your malware protection.
Thank you for the reply. It is Avast. When I turn off Avast, the page loads fine. The two pages in the screen shot are Squarespace(dot)com & J2kdesigns(dot)com. I’m not getting any Avast pop-ups about the websites. Both are legit. That’s my website I used Squarespace to make. And it’s not just those two websites. Any website designed with Squarespace and all Squarespace interior pages are not loading. So now that I know it is Avast, how do I stop Avast from blocking these websites?
Fyi, I’m only allowed to upload one screen shot.
OK. The normal regime is to first confirm the website is not bad by checking here: VirusTotal
If website is clean, report a False Positive URL to Avast using this: Choose Your Sample Submission Type | Avast
Note: Avast will not reply to your FP submission. Give it 48hrs for Avast to review, then try access the website again.
I appreciate the response, but LOL, it’s SQUARESPACE(dot)COM. How in the world would Avast think that’s a “bad” website? Still, I ran the VirusTotal and all websites I’m having issues with are clean. Again, thank you for the response. I still think this is totally bogus and I’m going down a rabbit hole I don’t need to go down.
Also, I added these websites to the Exception section of Avast and that didn’t help.
