Threat Detected, however...

Issue: Scheduled Scan Results displaying inaccuracy.
OS: Win7 x64, fully patched.

I ran Avast on a USB drive and detected a few threats… I knew what they were in advance, and I knew Avast would remove them.

However, a few days later, Avast detected a threat from the automated scheduled task (scanning my two hard drives), but it would not display any threat information or show any threat in the logs for that day. It repeats randomly on the scheduled scan. I would immediately run the same scan again to see at what point along the file system it detected a threat and manually running a scan does not detect any threat. In addition, the logs show no threat detected on those days. The only threat in the logs is from when I scanned the USB drive.

When I went to Settings - General - Maintenance - Auto-Cleanup, and Clean Scan History, the “Threat Detected” result from the scheduled scan was not seen again. This seems more like a bug to report than an issue, but I was curious if the Scan Results (from a scheduled scan) were inaccurately pulling detected threats from the history reports? This is not the first time I’ve seen this repeated false result (and not just on my machine). How does the scan results pull data for user display (especially when there is no data to display with the button)?

There is a bug in that user interface (many such topics), where after the scan it reports Threat Detected, yet when you click on the view scan result it shows no threat found. Checking the text log file also shows no detection.

This is a known bug and hopefully will be squashed soon.

The other one that kind of goes hand-in-hand with this is that the Avast UI after scheduled scan pops up on completion, or sometimes not,…random…like the thread Detected.

Also, I found out hitting the SHOW RESULTS opens nothing…I have to go to Scan History to see no issue.
