I keep getting a “Threat Secured” popup on different sites even after reporting “False Detection” numerous times.
First, I’m an Avast user and not an Avast Team member.
Not knowing what the alert is or what site/s that are impacted it is somewhat hard to offer advice.
You won’t get a direct response but it should be analysed within 48 hours, if found to be false it will be removed. If not removed it is still considered suspect.
There are sites that can also check a site link and or file upload.
- https://www.virustotal.com/ This has 92 different scanning engines (not Avast), should give you some idea as to its status.

Thank you!
You’re welcome.
Give a link to the VirusTotal scan results and depending on the results - I can try and attract some Avast Team attention to this.
For me it is somewhat strange to be getting multiple hits on different sites.
Were you actually trying to connect to these sites ?
I did connect to the sites and got the popup message on Yahoo Mail, YouTube and others. I reset my defaults and changed my settings to silent notifications and I still get the “Threat Detected” message with an alert sound.
In all honesty the silent treatment won’t work - you can try using the Limited Mode setting in Notifications.
In either case, I don’t think that would work as killing the messenger won’t stop issues with the site/s, whilst the alert message might not appear, but I believe the block would still occur. As the trigger for the alerts would be the Web Guard.
The sooner you run the VirusTotal scan and post the URL for the results the sooner I can try to attract Avast Team attention.
I regularly use YouTube with no issues, but I don’t use Web Mail, via my browser, I download my emails, via a paid program called MailWasher Pro. Here I filter out the dross/spam and then collect the remainder with ThunderBird email program.
