Does anyone have any experience with Threatfire (http://www.threatfire.com/)? Does this work flawlessly with Avast! on Vista Home Premium?
The Search button at the top of the forum works very well. Here is what I found using it.
EDIT:
Link removed.
Thanks, David. I had forgotten about that. My excuse is that it was late here and I was getting sleepy.
Charley, your URL doesn’t work as it doesn’t retain search results it does take you to the search function where you can enter Threatfire for the search. You can’t retain the search string like you can with google, etc.
Right now I’m trying to overload my pc to test the compatibilities of the following:
Avira PersonalEdition Classic (free)
Avast! Home Edition (free)
Comodo Firewall (all modules running)
Threatfire
System Safety Monitor (learning mode)
All of them are running just fine…no insidence of hang-ups yet even if the On access scanners of avira, avast, and threatfire are running simultaneously…
But I’m not planning to continue with this…I’m just experimenting…
Having two resident scanners installed is not recommended as rather than provide twice the protection it can cause conflicts that could leave you more vulnerable.
Even if you are trying to overload your system and there should be no overload if you remove one of the two resident AVs. The fact that so far there has been no conflict is no guarantee that it won’t bit you in the a** in the future. There are virtual device drivers that can conflict and that could lock you system, not something I would be prepared to gamble with.
It works with avast.
But, in my experience, WinPatrol detects more and better than it.
ThreatFire promisses a lot and do very little. Shame on PCTools.
Although, it’s compatible with Vista and avast.
I don’t know much 'bout Threatfire. Can a’one what is it? Seem like antivirus to me but if I’ve installed it do I need to remove avast!?
It’s not an antivirus. It’s a zero-day protection (non-signature based).
