Thunderbird

Hi

I’m new to Avast … very nice.
I’m working my way through the help file but it’s quite a lot to take on board initially … especially when you are not very pc savvy.
I’m thinking of switching my mail program to Thunderbird and wondered if someone would confirm whether I actually have to do anything with the settings, either in Avast or in Thunderbird to maintain full protection or whether everything is fully automatic.
I’m using Avast version 4.6 on Windows XP and don’t have the email wizard in Programs>Avast!
Thanks for you time.
Regards

JT.

On XP, avast will do everything for you. I’m using both and everything is OK

Mail Wizard is only present into Windows 98\Me.
With XP\2k it’s not necessary as your mail will be scanned transparently.
Anyway, go to the provider settings and configure the scanning into pop3/smtp tabs 8)

Thanks for the feedback guys … much appreciated … programs instantly go up in my estimation when they auto configure!!

JT.

JT, avast runs silently and transparently into Windows NT systems (Xp or 2k) but into 9x and Millenium it’s necessary the Wizard.
