After last update of Avast Thunderbird can’t download email; I must disable Avast and only in this case thunderbird can download email. I am using Windows 10 64 bit.
No problems with TB here…

Avast Internet Security 17.9.2322 (build 17.9.3761.0), no other security software installed. I bought the license two years ago and I never had problems until december 2017.
- Download Avast Internet Security: https://files.avast.com/iavs9x/avast_internet_security_setup_offline.exe
- Follow instructions: https://www.avast.com/uninstall-utility (Run this tool for all prior installed Avast versions…!!)
- Reinstall Avast with the downloaded installer from point 1.
- Reboot.

I tried to contact support previously for this problem that occurred after the last avast update. I had no feedback, in any case I have generated, as you suggested, a file with avastsupport (ID file CJVP4): 20180103_2046_CJVP4_1222948106.zip
I hope for a resolution :-.
