To AVAST: Re The Bat! Email client plugin

Hello,

Please can you release a plugin for RITLabs The Bat! as you have done in previous versions of AVAST.

I purchased AVAST pro unaware that the The Bat! plugin wasn’t included. One of the reasons I switched to AVAST was that it had the email plugin for The Bat! and as such offers(ed) me more functionality within my email client…which is no longer true.

Whilst I understand that AVAST offers system wide support, I’d like a way to restore the functionality that I’ve lost within The Bat!, such as manually scanning email bases and folders for viruses, which I now cannot do.

Of course you aren’t obligated to do anything, I get that, and so you don’t have to do diddly if you don’t want to, but I feel very peeved that there was no warning about this loss of functionality.

I moved from AVG over to AVAST free, and then upgraded and paid for the Pro version. I wouldn’t have done this had I known you were dropping some support you had offered previously.

Avast 5 is a very new product - and it’s new from scratch in most parts.
Just be patient a little, I’m sure they are working on plugins for all major email-clients.

Yes, of course, I am aware of that.

With all due respect, being told to ‘be patient’ is quite patronising. What I am asking for (confirmation / information) isn’t particularly unreasonable, and I have asked this question already, and waited…no response. I asked again, no response. I started this separate post because I had no response.

Sitting and waiting without a response ‘in hope’ isn’t a reasonable solution to anyone’s problems, and whilst I fully appreciate the developers may be busy developing (we’re all busy doing what we do) it would not hurt for a confirmation as to whether previous plugin functionality is going to be restored or not.

I haven’t noticed you had already asked this or requested at Alwil - and, re-reading your initial post, I think I couldn’t have known since you didn’t mention it in the first place.

But I do agree to you that he who asks deserves an answer. I hope one of the devs will read this and give the answer soon.
