Yes it was overhyped.
Nevertheless the infected are still infected and vulnerable to a new date on which the virus coders may choose to act.
As polonus advises the real task is to get those who have not checked to do so for this infection and, as far as possible, minimize the legions of systems still at the future command of this malware.
