tomb3.exe false positive

My eleven year old Tomb Raider 3 executable, tomb3.exe, has been been erroneously identified as malware: Win32:Trojan-gen {Other}. This error has been introduced since I did my last full scan on 2006 May 16. tomb3.exe was not reported as malware then. The copy of the file on my original tomb raider cd is scanned as malware too, so I’m pretty sure this is a mistake. How do I report this to Avast?

Looks like this is a common problem. I submitted it to virustotal.com. The report indicates that 6 out of 41 scanners identify it as malware: http://www.virustotal.com/analisis/d7fe6ff3d187e5ecc25659d036987142022919302910543572e44707c1598c65-1247857686

hello Alan Baxter,

you can submit to avast by,

chest> user files> add file(browse for file) > select the file to be uploaded > click email to avast (actually it will be uploaded) > do a manual update of avast.

EDIT: to go to chest, start avast antivirus > right click on the avast user interface and select virus chest.

Done. Thank you.

You are always welcome.
