toolbars

I am not sure if this is caused by avast or not. The only bars that show and are usable is the menu bar and the navigation bar. I cannot use yahoo toolbar, google toolbar or any other toolbar. When I go to view on firefox the only toolbar options for me to click on are menu bar and navigation and in IE8 all of the toolbars are listed, but the only ones that I can click on are menu, status, and command bar. Yahoo, google, delicious, msn are listed, but I cannot check any of these to be used. My IE8 also states that it is running with add-ons disabled, but there are none disabled when I check the manage add-ons button. Does anyone know how to get these to work? There is another toolbar that I use, teamelg toolbar, but in IE8 it comes up that I am missing a .dll. Could that be the case for all of the toolbars and if so how do I correct that?

Thanks for all of your help.

 Hi Sharon :

I sincerely doubt Avast is causing the inability to use any of the Toolbars you
mentioned; I would not have any of the Ones you mentioned on my computer.
You MAY have some undetected malware on your computer preventing the
use of those toolbars; have you run a program like the FREE Version of
“Malwarebytes’ Anti-Malware” ( www.malwarebytes.org/mbam.php ) and/or
“SUPERAntiSpyware” ( www.superantispyware.com ) to check for possible
Malware ? IF not, I recommend you do so .
