Do I need to disable Avast when downloading or seeding torrents? Can avast shields cause bad file downloads or pre-allocation problems?
You don’t have to disable avast, the reverse is true when using P2P applications form unknown sources and content, you want your security at alert not asleep.
The only issue with some P2P apps, uTorrent is the way they work creating multiple small files which forces avast to scan these parts, and this can have an impact on performance. But if you have a reasonable system with good CPU and RAM then this shouldn’t be a performance issue.
