TROJ_AGENT.AVPO

I have used Avast! for a number of years but I recently have had a problem with both IE and FireFox. Running slow, interesting miss directs, for that matter my entire machine seemed slow. Full scan revealed nothing. Then I rmembered a nice service that Trend Micro has, HouseCall. It found this virus, TROJ_AGENT.AVPO with a high risk level. It highjacks your banking information. You can find details at http://threatinfo.trendmicro.com/vinfo/virusencyclo/default5.asp?VName=TROJ_AGENT.AVPO&VSect=P.

I’ll keep using and recommending avast! to both my friends and customers, but I will also be using HouseCall at least once per month.

Well trojan.agent detections are more generic and liable to misdetection.

What is the infected file name, where was it found e.g. (C:\windows\system32\infected-file-name.xxx) ?

You could also check the offending/suspect file at: VirusTotal - Multi engine on-line virus scanner and report the findings here the URL in the Address bar of the VT results page.

If this confirms the detection (multiple detections) then you should send the sample to avast.
Send the sample/s to avast as a Undetected Malware:
Open the chest and right click in the Chest and select Add, navigate to where you have the sample and add it to the chest (see image). Once in the chest, right click on the file and select ‘Submit to virus lab…’ complete the form and submit, the file will be uploaded during the next update.
