Trojan 2773 found

I have been trying to get rid of the trojan, but I keep getting the pop ups, I made sure I turned off system restore and everything, I will click to move to chest like it says and it somtimes pops up immediatly right after but then always right after reboot, I have also tried to delete with the extra option checked. it says its under

C:\Documents and Settings\Candy\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5\81AJ0LE3\Update[1].abc[PECompact]
Win32"Trojano-2773

I am not sure what I got it from either, can someone please help me get rid of it for good? Thank you

Hi snocubmal1,

Have you tried a boot time scan with avast! if supported on your system? (Right click on the scanner screen and select ‘schedule a boot time scan’- set the default action to move to chest if you have a cordless keyboard because it won’t work during the scan.)

If that doesn’t work, I suggest you try Ewido (if you have Windows 2000/XP):

and/or a-Squared http://www.emsisoft.com/en/

Also worth a try is DrWeb’s CureIT:

If your system is badly infected, I’d recommend Trend Micro Sysclean:

If you are not a Trend Micro customer please download the following file.

http://uk.trendmicro-europe.com/enterprise/support/tsc.php

For the TSC package to be effective, you must download and use the latest pattern file. Place the pattern file in the same folder as the Trend Micro System Cleaner Package.

After that, download, install, update and scan with the following programs, preferably in safe mode (tap F8 while booting.)

Ad-Aware http://www.majorgeeks.com/download506.html

Spybot Search & Destroy http://www.safer-networking.org/

Make sure you have a firewall running, and when your computer is clean, make sure the first site you visit is Microsoft Update: download every critical update available. If you need to reboot, go back and download any more that are available. Repeat until there are no more critical updates available.

Good luck!

Welcome to the forums, snocubmal1.

It is always a good thing to post what your computer’s OS is since, as Frank mentions above, some solutions/programs work with different OS.

snowcubmal1,

Do you now or have you been using a PSP program on your pc? If so what version of Paint Shop Pro was it?

Hi snocubmal1,
