This morning an avast pop-up warned of a Trojan and said the file was the following…
C:\Program Files (x86)\Malwarebytes’ Anti-Malware\mbamservice.exe
Why is Avast reporting mbamservice.exe as a Trojan?

same here avast showed popped up a malware block warning which came from mcafee site advisor
Update to latest virus definations
Please update to VPS: 120205-1 and check whether this solves the problem.
This has fixed a few FPs today.
latest one is worst… it picked up mcafee site advisor as a malware -.-
thats really weird! seems to a FP day for avast! today
LOL avast’s gone paranoid… and the next thing you know you will end up getting system32 deleted =.=* luckily ticked the do not scan verified system dlls thing
You can report all encountered FP here: http://www.avast.com/contact-form.php?loadStyles
Problem not solved! Avast has put mbamservice.exe in the virus chest so i restored, but now MBAM will not start on startup. MBAM is now giving me the following error…
[OpenEvent] Failed to perform desired action. Error Code: 2
How do i get MBAM working again?
Reinstall MBAM please…that is the only way to fix it.
It can’t be the only way to fix it!
Yes thats the only way! beieve me ;D
I have just fixed it without having to re-install. Avast had stopped the MBAM service from running so i just opened MBAM and enabled protection again.
Simple as that! I really do not like having to do un-install/re-installs unless it’s the only option left.

That makes sense, since it would have been the service that was interrupted when it was sent to the virus chest. I guess a reboot would also have done the trick, since that would restart it as well.
Glad it is solved for you now
Mbam, CCleaner, Real Player FP’s and a false update notice all in one day … :-X
LOL so avast! block everything which is not malware ;D it behavior like a virus today
