Trojan-gen

Hi, everyone, I’m new here and also a new Avast! user. I’m pretty happy with it as it has replaced the Norton 2006(we do everything) that was pre-installed on my new PC.

My problem is this: I need to use a keylogger. However evryone that I have downloaded for free comes up infected with “traces of win32 trojan-gen”. That is everyone of them. So far my paranoia has had the best of me. Is it normal for a keylogger to register as a virus carrier?

Many thanks in advance,

ogun

Yes because that is the function of a keylogger to copy key inputs and in the bad ones to transmit your personal data to another person. See this thread http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=14740.0

Edit: OOPS and welcome to the world of Avast

Many thanks, that certainly clears that up. Trying Naomi.

Be well,
