After running avast scan today I found 5 file infected with Trojano 876, so far I put them all in the chest, since I was unable to repair them
Virus name is Win32:Trojano-876 (trj)
and files are:
-load.exe in C:\windows\Downloaded Program Files\load.exe (fileID4)
-load.exe in C:\windows\Downloaded Program Files\load.exe
(fileID8)
-load[1] .exe in C:\windows\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5\1P9EVU11\load[1].exe
-loadnew.exe in C:\windows\loadnew.exe
(fileID6)
-loadnew.exe in C:\windows\loadnew.exe
(fileID9)
size of the file is in all cases 3369
I have Windows ME,Internet Explorer v5.50
I’ve never have to deal with such things myself so I’m unsure of what to do. Thank you for any help in advance
You have done the correct thing in moving them to the chest, they can’t do any harm there and it gives you time to investigate as you have done here (google, etc.). Trojans normally can’t be repaired since the total file contents are malicious. After a period of time in the chest if there are no harmful effects to your system they can be deleted.
You should also clear your temporary internet files.
I would also suggests that you run hijackthis, for more info visit Eddy’s Website click the “HiJackThis Section” and also the “Malware removal instructions and applications” section, and follow the directions there and get back to us if you need more help…
as you are using M.E. it might be useful to turn off system restore and do another full scan just to make sure that the 2 files c:\windows\ haven’t been backed up there also.
thank you both, I already submitted HijackThis report on their forum as I was able to cought Kreper-I as well, so I’m waiting for their reply and I’ll follow you advice inthewildteam as well - thanks!
at least this one doesn’t seem to have some obvious irritating side effects, thanks you again!
