Trouble importing Avast security certificate into Outlook

I am using Windows 10 and Office 365 and I get a security certificate error every time I open Outlook. I have exported the Avast certificate and followed instructions on how to import it to Outlook but Outlook can’t find the certificate. Help Please.

Hello edgar83,
Witch instructions did you followed to import it to Outlook ?

Does it look like :

  • Start / Run
    - Type:
    C:\ProgramData\AVAST Software\Avast\wscert.der

    - A certificate window should open. Similar to the one attached.
    - Click Install Certificate
    - Choose: Store location: Local machine
    - Choose: Place all certificates into the following store
    - Click browse and navigate to "Trusted Root Certification Authorities"

I have the same problem, and i’m looking for fix it

After a fresh start of Windows 10 and re-install office 365, I get the same internet security warnings about certificates. Did anyone find a solution yet?

@grandpa2
Yes, I change my Avast for another software.

Repair Avast:

  1. Control Panel → Add/Remove programs → Avast
  2. Click on ‘Repair’.
  3. Follow instructions.
  4. Reboot.

After many hours spent on identifying the problem, I discovered this was not Avast’s issue but rather Outlook 2016’s. When I attempted to add an email account from within Outlook 2016 program and manually fill in my relevant server settings, Outlook would automatically revert to “default” settings upon restart.
Instead I configured the server settings using control Panel > user accounts > Mail (Microsoft Outlook 2016) > email accounts.

No more “default server settings” or “Internet Security warning” upon restart.

Thanks for the update. Let’s hope it also helps someone else with a similar problem.
