Trouble installing avast

I have recently moved around my install of Windows. I have two drives, a HDD (now labeled E:) and a SSD (now labeled C:). Here is my problem, I tried to open avast on drive E, and it gave me an error. I used the utility to uninstall it from drive E. I installed it back onto E and reset my computer. Now, I have no trace on E of the avast folder, the desktop icon doesn’t do anything, and when I tried to reinstall (after various attempts of booting into safe mode and looking) it is giving me the following error.

OS: Windows 7 Ultimate

Bump, sorry for the bump, but it has been over two weeks and I still am without protection. Thinking of switching to AVG at this point if no one can help me…

tried install it on C ?

I tried to install it on E, but now it just says “avast! installer cannot continue because the last avast! operation was performed without restarting. Please reboot your computer first and then run the installer again.”

Avast needs to installed on the same drive as the OS, try rebooting and then run CCleaner and retry installing on C drive.

Ran CCleaner, rebooted, still can’t install.

On C:, your system disk?
