I have avast! installed for a couple months on the nexus 7 and have been quite happy. Recently, I was at Tapjoy and installed an app (writing on pictures with a questionable TOS to be ad free). Right afterwards, the Nexus 7 keeps rebooting. I imagine the avast! program and the installer are fighting each other. I was able to briefly remove the questionable app from the desktop but cannot uninstall it using avast! as a result of it crashing and turning back on. What should be my next step?
Hi,
so what is the exact problem? The tablet keeps rebooting or the app can’t be uninstalled or Mobile Security is crashing or something else?
Filip
I turn it on and the desktop is default with no icons with the right side showing only the app/widget icon. The the avast! icon appears on the upper left corner. I cannot pull down and click the avast! icon. A few minutes later the system reboots and the above repeats. I have ad success in clicking the app/widget icon and bring up avast!. The time I click app management though, the whole system is rebooting already.
Sometimes when it reboots the screen is black (no desktop) with only the clock and battery visible.
Sometimes I get a Launcher is not responding error.
I go the “write on” app uninstalled with avast. I think I am good. It would be nice if it didn’t crash, but it did keep it safe.
Hi,
hmm, that’s really weird. Is your device rooted? I can’t imagine any non-system app could do this on non-rooted device.
