My registration renewal is due by the 1st of December, so lately my Avast has been notifying me to register. So I click the registration button, the wheel spins, and nothing happens. Eventually I find out I have to have an Avast Market account ?? It used to be that you would just get a license key and then enter it, but it now appears more complicated. Pls enlighten me what I need to do so I can move on quickly from this potential problem. -Thx
What you need to do is to install the latest avast version (or at least the one that is working on your system if it is a older one).
I have no idea what you mean by a market account, everyone should have a my.avast.com account. As that is what enables you to login to the forums and you link your avast installation
As Eddy mentions it would be preferable if you moved on to the latest version and the registration would be don then - most of those helping on the forums won’t have much of a recollection about avast 8
I have just got one of those renewal reminders, a day or so ago, for now I have just ignored it. I will now test it.
I can open the avast 12.3.2280 avastUI > Settings > Registration section and use the ‘Register Now’ button, that worked for me, all very simple and quick.
