Trying to update Avast 6 - Hangup

  1. I started yesterday evening to update Avast 6. When I went to bed it appeared to be about 1/3 of the way finished of step 1 of 3. I checked it this morning and it is still at the point it was last night. My system is a HP Pavillon 1619h. Any suggestions?

  2. I updated Avast yesterday on my laptop. It took awhile, but finished. On restarting my computer this morning, it shows Avast 7, which doesn’t make sense to me. :-\ I purchased and installed Avast 6 for each of my computers on the same day. Why the difference? Thanks

Qn 1: seems like a numer of ppl are having update problems including me (guess is server side problem as the day before my manual update still works)

Qn 2: the new version of Avast! is v7. if u accepted the programme update notification(default setting) /invoked the manual programme update, yup, u will get the Avast! 7 version upgraded over ur previous version
