two different LAN,one AMS?

Hi,

first,thanks for your kindly attention here,i need some help;

our company has two subnets,such as 192.168.2.x and 192.168.3.x,and they can access each other with TCP/IP;
by the way ,we use workgroup
my question :
can i just set one ADNM(contains AMS/Database) in one server in 192.168.2.x and distribute avast netclients to the two subnets?

thx for your kindly help!

without a domain this will be very hard to do remote

you could try building an MSI file and install that on the other subnet and see if the computer connects to the AMS.
if you dont have to put in any usernames/passwords to get on the other subnet, it should work…

get it,i will have a try,thx!

it is work!

great, goodluck :slight_smile:

You can use one special account on each workstation, member of Administrators group (the same name and the same password) for deployment from ADNM. It works, I have seen it at one of my friend’s network. But I preferr domain before workgroup… :slight_smile:

as i said, its very hard… means you have to administer all those computers with that specific name and password…
its possible but a lot more work (since you of course have a rotating password :slight_smile: )
next to that the machines are on different subnets, the ADNM console doesnt detect the other subnet as far as i know, not even tru the router… :slight_smile:

MSI is (proven above) the way to go :wink:

Is there a way to use two different .pst files from two differerent people?
My sons computer broke and we only have one computer in the house so I would
like to take his .pst file and put it on my computer so he can get to his
email. Is that possible and how would I do it.

Wow, you’re in the WRONG place my friend.

I’ll try to help anyway. Have a look at this: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/287070
