UKASH VIRUS why didnt avast see it coming and stop it

UKASH VIRUS why didnt avast see it coming and stop it, isnt that the whole point of anti virus software? ive been using avast for a while now and thought i was safe enough to leave my second laptop running overnight, which i dont usually do but thought id give avast software chance to do what it needs to do on the system, woke up to find ukash taken over the system and have been unable to boot into safe mode etc.
if that laptop was my only means of getting online etc i would be screwed right now, but luckily i have an old winxp system still working enough to get me here.
the laptop wont boot from usb cd/dvd drive either, safe mdoe doesnt help the uksah thing just pops back up, as it happens ive found methods to get rid of this virus and im working on that now, and working on keeping it away too.
but whats the point of avast if it did not catch it? if the answer is ukash is malware and not a virus and avast doesnt work against malware then you might as well sell up and move on !
im running combofix and and hitman pro to try and kill this little sucker but it would have been useful if the software i was recommended and been trialling had killed it for me… but no.
now i would have bought the full version of avast after my trial ended, if it had been up to the job, but it seems it wasnt.
i just hope any potential customers who are thinking of buying avast think twice after reading this post ! antivirus software that didnt catch a virus which is very well known all over the net!

come on avast whats the solution? or is this going to be my fault for thinking i should have been protected but i would have needed 6 other softwares to run alongside avast to stop any bad infections getting through?

one last thing, having to type in those stupid im a human codes like when i registeredin order to post is very annoying, im not a spammer, maybe your software would work that out if it worked as it should?

Because no Security program have 100% detection...if they did there would not be a virus problem ;) and the bad guys release New Versions every day

if able to, follow guide and attach the requested logs http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=53253.0

1. AdwCleaner
2. Malwarebytes
3. OTL
4. aswMBR

only the first 3 posts

so to fix the virus i have to downlodd and run other software? why dont you build in the fixes into the original software? this ukash thing has been around a while now over a year maybe longer…
if i didnt have another laptop what then? i cannot trust avast to stop the laptop being infected so avast has failed in its job.
yes as you say no antivirus is 100% for NEW viruses but not ones that have been around for a year maybe more.
so run this do that post this log post that log… do you not see how this is a pain to do and does not give me any faith in your software.

check Geeks to Go forum where they do virus removal all day... you will notice on strange thing......they all have a bunch of different antivirus installed, so this is not just avast

of course im having a problem with the link you sent… i cannot download anything to the laptop that has the infection as it will not start… the ukash has taken over the desktop.

OK, wait for the removal expert to arrive, he has more tools/tricks

Hi quavis,

Avast has this: http://www.av.eu/nl/producten/avast-rescue-cd. You need this and a usb-stick for instance and a non-infected laptop or computer.

But wait for a qualified remover to help you through the routine,
