Unable to connect my Note 3 after installing internet security

Hello.

I have recently installed Avast Internet Security after having the free version recommended to me. I have however discovered that when trying to sync my Samsung Galaxy Note 3 that it will no longer connect. I have been informed that it is likely down to changing the software from Bitdefender to Avast.

I am a complete idiot when it comes to setting up computers and software like antivirus so any help in very simple terms would be appreciated.

Did you removed Bitdefender completely before installing avast?

Open the Avast GUI
Goo Tools > Firewall > Settings
Tick the two boxes that are in the red box and then try

Eddy :- The bitdefender uninstall tool just runs in a loop, never seeming to complete an uninstall. Maybe because I had performed a basic uninstall through control panel?

Essexboy :- Ticking those two boxes has made no difference to my ability to connect my phone. It doesn’t show up in my computer list as a drive of any type.

Does it show in the drive section ? If not then we are looking at a windows problem
