Unable to delete/reinstall avast

Hello everybody :slight_smile:

I’ve got an annoying problem…
I can’t delete or reinstall avast anymore.

The reason of that issue is in short:
I uninstalled avast and went back in time with windows system recovery (for some major probs). Now I’m in that time where avast was installed, BUT the program is dead :-\

I can’t start it up anymore, uninstall anymore, I don’t see it anymore in the software list, etc.

I deleted the key in the registry and removed if from msconfig>services but all without effect :cry:

So, could you please help me?

I suggest an installation from the scratch:

  1. Uninstall avast from Control Panel first.
  2. Boot.
  3. Download the latest version of Avast Uninstall and use it for complete uninstallation.
  4. Boot.
  5. Install again the latest avast! version.
  6. Boot.
  7. Check and post the results.

OK, I followed your steps and it worked!

Step 1: Avast didn’t showed up in the control panel, but whatever
Step 2: Already done before this post
Step 3: Yeah… this was the missing link :smiley: I didn’t know there was such a program like Avast Uninstall
So I downloaded it and started it. It said I must restart in safe mode, so I did. (Step 4)
Started again, removed Avast, and ready!
Now I have avast running again :smiley: (Step 5)
Step 6: Withing an hour :wink:
