Unable to Grant Permissions in Avast SecureLine VPN

Hi, I am attempting to use Avast SecureLine VPN version 4.10.6 (49404), on Mac OS Sonoma Public Beta 2 (version 23A5301h)

When I start the app and click the button to turn the VPN on, I get a dialog saying “Please allow us to protect your privacy”. Please see the attached.

After I click Open Confirmation Dialog which should open the mentioned dialog, nothing further happens. I am not given the opportunity to grant the required permissions.

I have looked through Privacy & Security and cannot see any permissions relating to VPN.

Has anybody had this issue and what permissions do I need to grant? I have paid for a subscription and unable to use the service unfortunately.

Hi
I have exactly the same problem since upgrading to Sonoma full release version. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling, all seems fine until I get to the Open Confirmation Dialog. Hope someone has an answer.

I am also facing the same problem today after latest Mac OS update (Sonoma v14.0). How do I resolve it? My VPN is right now disabled.

Same problem here too. Installed Sonoma yesterday and now I can’t grant permissions to Avast SecureLine and I have no VPN working.

Same problem after upgrading to Sonoma

Same problem after upgrading to Sonoma

This is valid issue, after upgrading to mac os sonoma i’m also facing the same problem

Grant Permissions in Avast SecureLine VPN not appear if restart the mobile or to service. Where i found it in Samsung Android Mobiles?

The same problem on macOS Sonoma :frowning:

Same problem, not solved yet.

I have tried to draw this to Avast’s attention.

Does not work for me as well

Any update regarding this issue ? I’m trying to reinstalling it on my mac around 10 times, still no result, trying to do workaround by toggling smart vpn mode, couple of pop up window appear (accepted), but when turning on vpn window dialog Request appear again, clicking the button NO POP UP dialog appear

Hi,
thank you for letting us know. The issue happens only for certain Sonoma devices, I have seen support packages from two Intel Macs. I wasn’t capable to reproduce it on the devices I have available, regardless of the architecture. We have asked Apple and the advice was adding com.apple.developer.networking.networkextension entitlement, normally needed only for the system extension or tunnel packet provider features. I will add the entitlement and release an update this week.

The issue affects only IPsec/IKEv2 VPN protocol. If you switch the protocol in the application settings to Mimic, you will be capable to use the service in the meantime.

I’m sorry for the troubles caused to you. Best regards,
Martin

Here are the steps I followed:

  1. Used AppCleaner to uninstall Avast VPN completely from the system.
  2. Install the latest version of Avast VPN.

After that, it worked for me in v.4.10.9 (49428).

I’m not sure what exactly helped: the new version or full deletion )

The product should update itself automatically to 4.10.9, without a need of reinstall. If needed, it has an uninstaller that can be started from the applications menu or with the app drag&drop to trash. I don’t recommend usage of 3rd party apps for the uninstallation.
