I have an iMac and an iPhone that is set to enable calls from nearby devices. Since I updated to MacOS 15.2, I have not been able to initiate calls from my iMac through Siri or the FaceTime app while Avast Free is enabled.
As the iMac phone interface is attempting the call, a pop up says “iPhone Not Available - Your iPhone and Mac must be on the same Wi-Fi network.” But they already are! I should mention, I can receive incoming calls on my iMac; I just cannot initiate outgoing calls.
Through a long troubleshooting call with Apple Support, the problem was finally isolated to Avast being enabled. When I disabled Avast and its network extension, I can again initiate calls as before the 15.2 OS update. Apple says this is up to Avast to fix. PLEASE HELP.
