Windows 7 Home Premium
Latest Version Of Firefox.
Firefox and’ Google Chrome.
Unless I am ‘missing a beat,’ clicking on the ‘Profile’ icon and selecting ‘Sign Out’ should be the way to end a session.
However, when I click on ‘Sign In,’ it does not display the sign-in credentials but instead keeps me signed in.
Clearing browser cookies, refreshing the page, and disabling browser enhanced protection did not work and closing the browser is the only way to do so.
What is the fix?
Given you said you are using Win7 Home Premium, what Avast Version are you using as I’m unsure if Avast supports this on current Avast Versions, now Avast 26.5.xxxx
Firefox is my default browser (151.0.2) and don’t use Chrome. I haven’t got any profile set as such, just the default profile, Original profile, (current). I can’t see any no Icon to test.
Hello DavidR-Specs:
Avast Free Antivirus: Version 26.5.10994.734
Firefox: Version: 115.36.0esr
(Notifications and Account→Profile→User Icon→Sign Out reverts to the ‘Sign In’ page but clicking it takes me back to my ‘dashboard’ (instead of the sign-in credentials).
Also, please read my unanswered post in ‘Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable Update Failed.’
:
I’m using FF version 151.0.2, so I can’t really compare. So I’m not sure if there isn’t a compatibility with FF115.36.0esr and the latest Avast version.
I’m surprised that Avast is still supporting Win 7 Home Premium.
As I said I only had one profile the Original Profile so I really can’t test.
Even after creating one Personal Purple, selecting that just jumps right in in + new Firefox window, as I haven’t save or imported anything my options are zero. No sign in nothing.
Re your topic - ‘Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable Update Failed.’
Not much to add to that topic, it is donkeys years since I last used Windows 7 system an old 10.1" Acer Aspire One Tablet with windows 7 Stater edition (prehistoric). I’ve still got it, Intel Atom processor1GB RAM, 250GB HDD, this is a museum piece.
You have been unhelpful on ‘both’ threads.
Therefore, I will keep them ‘pending’ for someone better equipped, ideally a Win 7 and FF user, to answer them.
Avast Forum Sign-Out Issue: Either there is a glitch or an ‘incompatibility’ with Avast ‘and’ with Win 7 ‘and’ with FF, resulting in the inability to sign out of the forum (or there isn’t a glitch or an incompatibility).
Avast Software Updater Issue: Either there is a glitch or an ‘incompatibility’ with Win 7 and Microsoft C++ *and if so, ‘why’ does Avast Software Updater ‘detect the update’ as available for download (or there isn’t a glitch or an incompatibility).
