Downloaded and installed the latest Avast Free Edition. It is registered too.
But it shows that it is not working, so I am getting the unsecured message. 
What shall I have to do now?

Sorry forgot to mention in the post itself that I am clicking on the Fix Now button or the Start the Program one but nothing is working. Also, if I am already registered why it’s still showing the Register now button?

- OS…? (32/64 Bit…? - which SP/Build…?)

Ok you mean I haven’t downloaded the latest AV Free version? Actually I brought this laptop out yesterday only (it was not in use for years) . It already had an Avast running on it. I uninstalled it and tried installing the latest version.
Can you give me the link from where I can download the latest version?
OS is Windows Vista.
