hi guys, recently i had to restore my pc to an earlier point in time.
i updated avast from avast.com to get things working again but when i went to my firewall it says “protection: unknown”
i tried to click “start” for my firewall but the message “unable to start firewall! shield unreachable” pops up and thats it??
i’ve tried “repair” and “update” in control panel but still nothing!??
can anybody help please.

What do you mean with that? Have you rebooted after the repair? Or you are not able to repair at all? If you aren’t, then what EXACTLY do you see when you try to?
BTW, when you previouslly re-installed avast, did you download / use the same edition you already had (AIS)? Is your license active?

then do a clean install…That Should Fix It.
