Unable to update to the latest build? Please read...

Hi,

some of you have indicated that an attempt to update to the latest version (5.0.507 at the of writing). Usually, the updater reports either of the following:

  • error 301
  • error “Package is broken”

If you’re in a similar situation, please send me the file C:\Program Files\ALWIL Software\Avast5\Setup\setup.log - this will help us analyze what’s going on. You can send it to me by email, by simply clicking the envelope icon below my picture.

I sent you an email - to start, please try cleaning up the temp folder

C:\WINDOWS\TEMP

and run the update again…

avast 5.0.507 successfully installed!
