Hi,
Maybe I am NOT understanding correctly how Redirect works, so let me explain:
I am using Thunderbird to send and retrieve my two accounts: the E Mail account that my ISP originally assigned me and my Yahoo account.
Now, my ISP account uses the standard POP port: 110 (default on avast Redirected ports) and
my Yahoo account has assigned for POP the 995
For SMTP, my ISP account uses the standard port: 25 (also default on avast RPs) and
my Yahoo account uses port number 465.
The port numbers for the Yahoo account, the POP 995 and the SMTP 465, are those suggested by Yahoo on their pages and I have been able to work with both accounts on Mozilla Thunderbird flawlessly for quite sometime, until I tried to add the Yahoo account ports to the Redirect settings, so for example on the POP rectangle, where you add ports separated by commas, I wrote 110,995 and the same for the SMTP rectangle: 25,465.
Now the problem with these settings is that I can NOT send or retrieve from my Yahoo account my mails ANYMORE!
so, I had to delete the Yahoo account port numbers 995-POP and 465-SMTP from the Redirect settings leaving alone the default ports. This is the only way I can send and retrieve from both accounts without problems other than avast NOT checking (obviously) the Yahoo Acc., which I can tell because the tray icon only appears at the moment TB is checking my old ISP account.
If I leave both account ports on the Redirect settings, when TB is trying to download mails from the Yahoo account (or send a Mail for that matter) it simply stalls and after a while, it starts downloading or sending mails from my ISP Account.
What am I doing wrong? …How can I make avast to not stall and work along fine with the Yahoo account?
…Do I have to resign myself to dismiss avast from checking my Yahoo account?
Thanks in advance and please forgive me for this rather long question ![]()
