Question, How an I to send this Trojan to Virus@avast.com via Yahoo email? because evertime I try to upload the zipped and password protected file the Norton scanner on Yahoo email detects it and blocks it.
You can’t… that’s the problem of actual email sending to Alwil… Gmail, Yahoo… will caught the file even inside an archive file…
I don’t think you would be able to send withing Chest also, you can try…
It isn’t actually detecting the malware as in a password protected zip it can’t unpack it to scan it, so yahoo is probably objecting to the zip attachment.
Or does the Norton scanner actually name the malware and does that correspond to any of the VT detections, I think not. The processing effort required to crack a password, even an obvious one like virus or infected in the body of the email just wouldn’t be worth it.
Yes, but it isn’t scanning the exe file all it is doing is blocking because there is an .exe file inside the zip, you can see the contents, but to be able to actually scan the file inside it must be extracted and for that you need a password.
I’m not saying that… just that GMail and Yahoo block the sending of exe files regardless they’re into zip passworded files because the exe file could be seen inside of a passworded zip file.
Tes, but that isn’t scanning and detecting as Justin mentions, that is what I’m contesting it can scan so the blocking by file type is plain crazy, not unusual for Norton.
