Unhandled Exception Error - Boot Scan - Vista Premium

I can’t do a boot scan anymore in Vista Home Premium.
Boot scan just initiates then unhandled exception error then immediately restarts computer.

I had no problems running boot scans before. I am completely up to date with program and iavs updates.
This was an avast bug reported on one forum I visited but article was dated 2003

Regards,
Maureen

This is currently an acknowledged problem with the boot-time scan which should be fixed very soon. Try a forum search for this as there have been a number of topics about the problem with the boot-time scan.

See http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=29999.msg247134#msg247134.
You’ll need to wait for the next program update.

The same happens with my W2K boot scan, same error message:

Unhandled exception Error:0xC0000005 {The instruction at “0x%08lx” referenced memory at “0x%08lx”. The memory could not be “%s”.}

Seems to be solved yet… http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=29999.msg247544#msg247544

Great! Thanks for the reply. I noticed the vps update, but didn’t think it could cure the problem. :slight_smile:
