uninstall avast

oldman when I tried to download & run the uninstall program I get this error
message…avast self protedtion module is enabled. For this reason the operation cannot be completed. Thanks…H2oMaN

Why a new thread?

Tech gave you information to help fix this in post #3 of your old thread. If, for whatever reason, you are unable to turn off the avast self-defense module then please boot into Safe Mode and run the avast uninstall utility in Safe Mode.

Geeezzz sorry didn’t know everyone here is so thin-skinned. I’ll work this out alone thank you very much. I now understand why people don’t like forums.
And just think, I spent two tours in Viet Nam, so you could have the right to
explain your mental age.

It was not thin skinned - it was factual.

I am probably at least your age - and clearly at least as well adjusted.

If you want help that’s what we are here for - if you want to be emotional - that is your choice. As for working it out yourself - I just told you how to do so.

Ah here you are…you moved.

Well what alanrf suggested was my next suggestion.

Follow the steps I gave you for using the uninstall utility, but do it from safe mode.

If you are unsure of how to get your system to boot to safe mode the instructions are:

Restart your computer
After hearing your computer beep once during startup, but before the Windows icon appears, press F8. (you may get a stuck key message, so tap F8 instead)
Instead of Windows loading as normal, a menu should appear.
Select the first option to run Windows in Safe Mode hit enter.

Please log into your usual account.
