Uninstall CloudCare extra / optional components

Hi all.. I have set up a new customer account and created and run the [Windows] installation EXE, but have just seen that I inadvertantly checked the VPN box within the included components list. My new customer already has their own VPN and doesn’t need / want the AVAST VPN as well.
I have checked in the portal, and can see it is included in their installation, but cannot see a way to Uninstall it. - Is there a way I can remove the Individual [optional] Components via the partner portal ?? thanks in advance

You can’t remove components like VPN from the portal after install you’ll need to uninstall or modify the install on the device manually.

Thanks Kevin,

I kinda thought this might be the case, but it was worth the ask

On Avast Business Hub you can enable/disable the services you can run on a device.

Hi, just to confirm - are you running CloudCare through the Business Hub ? We’re STILL waiting to migrate from the original portal, whose behaviour is becoming a tad erratic !

No, we never used CloudCare. We come from Avast more than 20 years ago and we use Avast Business Hub from the beginning when it replaced previus Avast consoles.

Ah - that makes sense - thanks for clarifying. I believe the ultimate plan is to migrate us CloudCare types across at some point. Clearly no rush !

Yeah, the “conversion” must have issues. Plus we will loose the free premium remote control once we migrate to the Hub, which was a huge selling feature for CloudCare. I am guessing we will not convert to the Hub, but will migrate the clients to Kaseya 365. Not sure yet. Been with CloudCare since 2013.

I’ve looked at Kaseya 365 - bit of a sledgehammer and walnut situation, plus the onboarding fees are outrageous. Got to be a last resort for us.

Yeah, it is a bit of a monster. But the biggest monster is the fact that Kaseya has no problem selling direct to the end users. I am starting to see more of that lately. Hard to compete with the supplier. :frowning:

It’s a bit ripe, when they claim to be supporting MSPs and the channel. I’m just hoping CloudCare survives until my retirement.

Yes, you and me both.

And, it appears to me (And I could be wrong) that the MSP industry is changing as more people get on-board. It is getting more competitive and the pricing more aggressive. Margins will start to shrink, like everything else in IT. (I hope I am wrong)

I just googled “Kaseya 365 endpoint pricing”, and the AI Overview shows pricing very close to what we, as an MSP, are paying. That’s too bad. I like some of their products.

Hmm, still thinking about this and the future of MSP profitability. A set of wrenches may cost a person $100, for comparison. But, a good technician using those wrenches is worth that per hour. Sounds good on paper. Now to convince the clients.
