I never ordered this anti-virus software and didn’t (to my knowledge) download it. I have done everything I can think of to uninstall it according to your instructions. The software is no longer installed on my laptop but I can’t get rid of the “Avast free antivirus” listing on my start menu. I don’t want anything on my PC that I did not choose to have there. Please let me know how to permanently remove every trace of the software. Thank you, Jonathan Tieman

1)Download the Avast Uninstall Utility or Removal tool
2)Uninstall Avast via control panel and follow the directions.
3)Run the Uninstall Utility and accept the reboot to safe mode
4)Once complete reboot your system.
