Hello,
I have uninstalled avast (temporarily of course ) but I cannot delete or access the following folders which remained after uninstalling avast home ed,
C:\Program Files\Alwil Software\Avast4\DATA\chest
C:\Program Files\Alwil Software\Avast4\DATA\log
OS = WinXP Pro
I am also logged in as the administrator.
How do I delete these folders?
Thanks for any help 8)
Can’t you see their contents or you just can’t delete them?
Did you use Avast Uninstall tool?

I have solved my problem
I moved the folder out of program files to my desktop.
And that somehow changed the file permissions and i was able to delete it.

Just a thought, not so long ago when it was discussed about an escalating permissions vulnerability in the avast folders, there was a work around posted in one of the threads.
Did you by any chance apply this work around ?

I am not aware of any work around or of the thread relating to this, so in response to your question, no.
