Unmarking spam in Thunderbird

I have searched here and not found the answer (try searching remove spam LOL) and I know I must be missing something obvious. Avast and T-Bird are working fine together (Avast Internet Suite 5) but it marked an email that is not spam with *** spam ***, now I know there is a toolbar in Outlook, but there seems to be no way to do anything in T-Bird, there’s no Menu item to mark as not spam as there was with McAfee, is there a way to remove the erroneous mark or do I just have to deal with it?

avast marking an email as spam is not a Thunderbird function. You cannot undo that, because it has nothing to do with Thunderbird junk filtering. The only way out is to deactivate avast spam filter and re-download your message

On a side note, right clicking any mail entry in Thunderbird allows you to mark as junk or not junk, but this has obviously no impact on Avast anti-spam feature. The avast module only marks the subject, again Thunderbird isn’t “aware” of that.

ps: Avast spam filter is useless in Thunderbird

100% true.

Well that’s a bit of a bummer. I’ll turn it off then. Will Avast still scan emails for Virus’ etc.? Is that what the Shield is for I assume?

Yes, the mail shield scans your mails…
