???
Can you rephrase?
For the past day or so, silly me I thought with my always-connected internet, I thought this would fix itself…
I kept getting the red error pop-up message “There was an error during update, click her for more information”, of course when I click it, nothing happens, and after clicking it twice I just tell Avast to update, and previously stated pop-up error message pops up. I haven’t been able to update the Virus Database since.
To delay the update of avast into a permanent internet connection (DSL) you can change the value AlwaysConnectedWaitSeconds into avast4.ini file. Details on ‘Settings’ in my signature or here: http://forum.avast.com/index.php?board=2;action=display;threadid=1647
But, can’t you even manually update your virus database?
Which firewall do you use?
It’s all good now, apparently the program got a bit corrupted (again, mahhh) and I figured it out since I tried to start it up and nothing happened.
So I figured to reinstall Avast, and more confirmation of the program-corruption when I went to add/remove programs in Control Panel to uninstall Avast (Darn my old conventional ways) and when I tried to remove it, it had to find the file to uninstall it…
So I uninstalled it (with the setup download) and reinstalled and everything is fine now.
