Latest update to my Avast Internet Security just rendered my system unusable. I couldn’t even log in to my user profile, I logged in and the system logged me off: “User profile cannot be loaded” or something like this.
I managed to restore my system but what about future Avast updates?
What is wrong with you Avast, you are killing me with push notifications but can’t perform your own updates?

Not if the OP isn’t running XP as you stated you are. 
Avast Internet Security has worked on Windows XP until yesterday.
I am no computer savvy and I have neither the knowledge nor the time to fix things because of Avast.
In the last half hour I received several browser notifications for add-on updates which I blocked but I don’t know whether new program updates will lock me out of my computer again.
I am new here so I’ll just ask: does anyone from Avast read these postings?

I am running Windows 7 Pro on this machine where I had the problem but I am using Avast like forever and had no problems until now.
