update not workin

hi,

i am using avast internet security 7. there are some issue disturbing me about update. my update aren’t working. i try to do auto and manual update. its said update successful. but as i using my laptop there is pop up said that my VPS is not up to date. i have try to re install avast, but the same issue occur. need to solve this issue coz worried bout virus eating my laptop inside out

try repair…

contolpanel > ad / remove programs > avast > uninstall > select the repair option
wait a couple of minutes and reboot

did that fix it?

still not working. i try to reboot but there is app error show. it read

the instruction at 0x01275d42 referenced memory at 0x00000000. the memory could not be read. click ok to terminate program

Didn’t work for me, either. Got a little message telling me to use “full update”, whatever that means, since the thing won’t update at all.

For those of you who are are using the regular release version 7.0.1466, and the repair failed - ‘Error processing packages. Please use full update.’ - then this worked for me on my win7 netbook with 7.0.1466:

Then you will need to do a Manual update of VPS - avast! Virus Definitions Update - Manual Download VPS Update (virus definitions, vpsupd.exe, approx 67.5 MB). - Save the file to your hard disk, locate where you saved it and double click it and that should carry out the virus definitions update.

If you don’t want to go through that process, then wait for the avast team to resolve it, which hopefully won’t take too long.

Is the Beta version updating properly?

Good News, mine just auto updated. ;D

Having this same problem; Internet Security won’t update the virus database past 121003-1, and yet has a warning about this definition version on the home window. The “repair” option under the installer gave me an “error processing packages please use full update” error, and downloading the manual update pack off Avast gave me an error that the database was already up to date.

Avast update now shows 121003-1 as current, while http://www.avast.com/virus-update-history shows 121003-2 as the latest. Downloaded streaming updates have a “C:\Program Files\AVAST Software\Avast\defs\12100302_stream” folder. However, the error message is no longer there.
