Update problem

I get a popup stating that the last update failed. Mu summary shows the current version as 110911-1, so I do a manual virus def.update, which results in a message that “Engine & Definitions already updated - current version 110912-0.”
However, when I look at my current version is still shows 110911-1.

Try avast repair and reboot

For a repair of avast. Windows, Add Remove programs, select ‘avast! Anti-Virus,’ click the Change/Remove button from the pop-up window, scroll down to Repair, click next and follow.
